Wrapping paper

HI it's Ash, Christmas is coming and I am exited to be out of school for three weeks, aren't we all. But lately I have been constantly worried about homework and activitys that I haven't really been able to post a good post on the blog. I'm not very good at it but I will try.

Here's a summary of the past while in a few words...... Family, Yorkshire puddings, Nativity!, Yummy food, sore back, school, sleeping.

I am getting pretty hardcore, working out. Maybe just sitting on the couch watching my siblings workout, but that counts too right? I defiantly had the intention of working out. In PE class I accidentally kissed some guys muscles as he intercepted my pass in handball👌. Smooth huh?

When in England...

Hi everyone it Ash! I love all of the Christmas lights and tree's out to celebrate this season. The colors are so vibrant and turn the neighborhood into a twinkling wonderland. I took a few pictures.
We got the movie Nativity! from England and couldn't figure out how to get it to work on a Canadian DVD player. So finally we tried it in the computer and it WORKED!! My Mom and Brother and I all watched it crowded around the tiny screen and it was probably one of the best comedy Christmas movies of all time. I "visited" England as you can see in this picture. Not really but, it was worth a try.

Gettin' In The Christmas Spirit!

Shout out to Sister Lybbert, otherwise this wouldn't be possible... and I would be screwed by now.. but anyway haha.

#savingsoulsallaround

This week for our Young Women activity we had a christmas movie night! It is crazy, because, that time last year we were watching The Polar Express and it would have been my 2nd YW activity. I was still an investigator. It's a big thing for me! I can't belive it. I'm so grateful and blessed to have been offered the gospel at that time and to have had such great teachers. I wouldn't have had it any other way. We watched The Nativity! If anyone who hasn't seen it & wants a copy giz a shout! But.. If you are in Canada or any place like that you will need an English dvd player. (I think) The Nativity is so funny! It's not the actual Nativity. But I'm not going to explain. Ain't nobody got time for dat!

Funny story; on the way to school and I found a christmas tree, but it was totally abandoned all on its own so I took it (for my friend because she wanted it) but obviously I didn't steal it I made sure it was okay to take! Durhh. Ps; always make sure if you are going to take something that it is totally safe and fine to take! Common sense really. (;

Also, it has been so rainy in England lately and so cold! That is the reason for the picture that looks so Tumblr.

Don't hate me cause ya ain't me.

Well I love you.

Franken Food Challenge

I did film a video but I lost it because I filmed it on my GoPro... but good job I took a picture right?? It looks pretty good I must admit but the ingredients in it were rank:
OX cubes
Mint sauce
Apple sauce
Mixed hurbs
Lentils
Golden Syrup
Mayo
Tamato sauce

The red stuff is monkeys blood. Which is so good for those of you that don't know what monkeys blood is in food terms it is just strawberry sauce. On England we get it from icecream vans. And I think that's where the term monkeys blood came from.
Nobody had the guts to eat it and I couldn't trick anyone into it because it stunk!

Asda, Wheelchair's?

It's been pretty eventful this week. It was Halloween which was fun
Happy hoodie and hiding to scare the        Sisters ( lds.org )
 We went to Newcastle with no intentions of discovering anything BUT we found this polish place which sold loads of polish sweets, sausages, pops for so cheap! It's a pretty big deal. I seen this really cool vid on Facebook where this guy opened a Pomegranate and it was such a cool way so I thought id give it a bash so I bought one and on the way back home waiting for the metro I couldn't resist poking a hole through and eating it but that didn't work out so well;
It popped and the juice squirted all over everyone and stained my hands and face. But it was delish!

So that happened. And we found a wheelchair in Asda we were in our element! It was the funniest most entertaining thing I've ever done in a car park!

also went to Light Water Valley and it was fun apparently The Ultimate (rollercoaster) is apparently the longest in the UK it's pretty high. It hit into a Deer a few weeks ago and killed it. Imagine being on the front, ew.

If you see an abandoned wheelchair in a car park don't hesitate to bounce in it and live the moment.

New challenge!!

Hey guys it's Tal and Ash and we are happy to announce our new challenge, the Frankenfood challenge. In this challenge we individually must make a food item with different foods that you normally wouldn't put together. We will make a VIDEO of our food item and what's in it, then we will post it here. We can have some taste testers In the video with feedback on our food item. Whatever one you think tastes better, looks better and has the overall best presentation YOU can vote for.
Talyia and Ash must post their Frankenfood video by November 6th.
Good luck.

Snow?..... NO!

Well it's officially snowy here in "sunny" Canada. It's exciting but..... It will be here on and off until April. Welcome to the frozen paradise, if you like being indoors this is the perfect season for you. As for you outdoorsy people, this season will consist taking 20 minutes of getting in 20 pounds of snow gear to be outside for 10 minutes. Than taking 30 minutes getting out of slushy, sticky gear an hour recovering from the cold.

I learned early on that its not worth the runny nose and foggy glasses to build a snowman. Maybe sledding is worth it.... Maybe. Skating is sometimes worth it but usually I skate indoors, unless we build an ice rink. I am just sad that the green grass will soon fade and the snowy season will last almost half the year. The first snow it always exiting and personally i don't think snow is that bad, it's gorgeous and fun. Maybe I just need to make the best of things...

So Much Homework!

It's approximately the 8th week back to school, a new year and I've already had over 15 peices of homework and I don't really have anything to post about because clearly my life has not been very eventful these past few weeks. Tomorrow we break up from school for a week, it's half term so thats good. I've been trying to write my Christmas list, but (this may sound cray) I can't think of ANYTHING I need or want. I can't believe myself. Who doesn't know what they want for Christmas?? Haha.
Oh pretty funny story-
Me and my mam went to go get a KFC and I was in my pjs and my muti coloured baja (thinking we were coming straight home with our food and going through the drive through) but no my mam parks up and I'm like "mam, urm.. Mate look at what I'm wearing" and she was like "oh well, come on" so she said if we didn't sit in she wouldn't buy food haha how bad is that?! THEN she started running away from me the crazy cat pretending she wasn't with me! But that's alright because when ever we are in the supermarket I run around with my arms like wings making airplane noises and skidding on my knees. Moral of the story the lesson learned from this is to be yourself, it doesn't matter what others think. If you want to rock up to KFC in your pjs, you do that! Keep your face to the sunshine!

Skating, Blood & Dislocated Knees

Yesterday, we went skating and one of my friends slipped of her board and fell.. Obviously our immediate reaction was to laugh and take a photo! But then we realised she was in really bad pain and she didn't want me to ring an ambulance so we just chilled on a curb for a bit. I think her knee is dislocated, and her other knee has such a cool little gash
(not as deep as a gash) that bleeds so much but it's only quite small. So this ones for you, Abbie. Go hard or go to A&E.

Day 6!

I'm grateful for quotes.. They prove so much and remind you that you're not the only one. If you're ever feeling down have a look at some quotes- there's loads, just google search 'happy quotes' or 'positive quotes' most of them are so good! Enjoy.

Ps; Go on lds.org and I challenge you to watch atleast one talk from #ldsconf or even one mormon message. They are all amazing!

Day 5? Ya

I am grateful for #ldsconf and can't wait till next session. For more info visit lds.org😘-ash

Day 5

I'm grateful for shoes!( and food) I love shoes and I can't bear not wearing some type of shoe. I also have to wear socks for bed. Vans are my favourite shoe, they are so comfy and easy to board in, the sole is so thick so don't wear down quick. But this isn't a shoe review. Hah so.. That's what I'm grateful for. I also love converse. (:

Fun Night Missions!

Tonight has been one of the best, putting all the homework and worries aside and having so much fun with a few friends has been so good!

We finished school with no plans and just let time take it's own route, we ended up at the fair

which was good, (the fair is one of my favourite things ever!) and it's a £1 a ride on Fridays which is win win! Wooo. We got hungry and went to Maccas.

YEAA BUDDY! And I'm so pumped for #ldsconf tomorrow! On the way home we met a really cool drunk guy
(The drunk guy with loads a-bling)
who was telling me about how he used to be a car racer and that he died twice already, I acted so interested and told him I'm glad he is still here.. He said "me too." I find drunk people so funny. It's kind of nice one in a while to be entertained by a random drunk. It makes you realise how smart you are and wise. Don't do drugs kids, or alcohol. (:

Picture challenge

So, i was thinking it would be fun to start weekly challenges that don't take too much time but brighten up your day! We will have two teams, team Talyia and team Ashtyn and whoever can complete the weekly challenge will earn 1 point. Whoever has the most points by the end of the deadline is officially the champion of challenges. You can also invite friends to follow the Tal and Ash blog and vote for either of us. With every 10 votes a participant gets they also earn one champion point.

For the first challenge....
This is a fun, interactive challenge that will help with finding something to be greatful  for everyday. You must take at least one picture each day for a week with a caption of why you are greatful for what you took a picture of. No cheating!! You can't use picture previously taken by you, they must be from the day you post them. Every picture must be uploaded by 12am that day (taking into consideration time difference) Whoever can go a week without missing or skipping earns one point for their team. Your mission if you choose to accept it starts Tuesday September 30th. Good luck!

Adventures & Experiences!

Have you ever seen photographs of the same things from different perspectives? For example, a photograph of a street seen from both sides. Everything changes, your perspective shifts to meet the new one and what once might have been familiar is now strange.

I wouldn't say I'm familiar with London at all, it's a pretty hard place to be familiar with (I was only there for 3 days), and just when you think you're out of it, nope, you're still in the centre! With a population of 8.3 million (2013 statistic), contributing to nearly one quarter of the United Kingdoms economic output, the question remains: where the heck do all these people live?

London is like any other place really, but there's just something about it I love.. There is so much culture and history. It has some less economically developed / slum parts but every place has them. I'm Not going to lie, but when we were heading toward the centre of London I was really surprised.. I didn't really know what to expect, well actually I did a little - my first glances I was like "Wow, is this seriously our capital city? It's disgusting" but clearly I spoke too soon, we passed houses that were practically half left, TV aerials hanging off of the roofs, ripped curtains & smashed windows. I'm making it sound really bad here but I'm not exaggerating , seriously.  We passed through those parts and then gradually I seen London's potential... It is beautiful!

Overall the very short amount of time I was there I loved every second (apart from the hotel room I was freaked out) we went to see Wicked (I fell asleep 5 times during) so that was nice. We went on the London Eye, we went to Harrods for those of you who don't know what that is.. It's a really posh shop on Brompton in London, where a tiny tub of Caviar is like £9,000. Hahah it's pretty funny actually because people were like cracking on with their weekly shop. We went to Madame Tussaud's and all that jazz!

I'd happily live there! I think depending on where you are from and what kind of person you are, you either hate it or love it.. Its definitely not for everyone. We didn't stop that often to take any photos so half of them are through our bus window. If you ever get the chance to go, go for it!  (:

Party's, Cupcakes and Bowling.

First things first. My friend Darae had a birthday on Tuesday and so on Monday we went 10 pin bowling. I defiantly didn't win but I had a blast showing off new moves. We ate at Pizza Hut and got milk shakes.
I would say that was a really fun and it was a school night too. I was also planning a surprise party for her. On Friday we got the cotton candy machine and snow cones ready. She wasent expecting a second party and  so we really surprised her. We had a blast and later that night we went to a stake dance in lethbridge.
That basically sums it up but I had a fun week and I can't wait for next weeks post.
